Parents' School

In accordance with AyO's holistic approach, this program works to train the parents of our youth participants in matters related to health and the importance of education, etc.

Some of the Activities Carried out in 2015:
  • 160 educational talks given to participants in markets and communities.
  • 63 mothers and 4 workshop participants receive parents how to prepare healthy foods to improve nutrition for their families.
  • 53 women and 4 men participants are trained about the importance of knowing the laws protecting women's rights.
  • 43 mothers and 4 fathers were trained in the importance of fortified foods consumed daily to improve their health and that of their families.
  • 63 women leaders and 4 father leaders are trained about the importance of preventing gender violence and that everyone has the right to have a life free of violence
  • 60 women and 7 men are trained on the subject of breast cancer cervical cancer, where women and men are aware of the importance of the examination performed to detect any anomalies that may affect their health.
  • 20 mothers were trained to act as multiplier effects, spreading awareness of healthy food issues, care of the body, female sexual organs reaching more than 170 people in their communities.
  • 140 women and 3 men were reached through the use of multiplier effects and training leaders on issues of violence and disease prevention.
  • 29 lectures are given to male and female patients attending medical consultation topics focused on health such as diabetes, hypertension, respiratory diseases, breast and cervical cancer, HIV and AIDS etc., reaching more than 500 patients.

Project: Economic Development

From 2011 to today, this project has reached  1086 mothers, fathers, and youth, training them in entrepenuership and business development.

Project: Womens leadership to overcome socio-economic insecurity in the city of Tegucigalpa   

Target population: Women who are 16 to 30 years old in the communities Campo cielo, Flor 1, Ramón Amaya Amador, El durazno and the surrounding neighborhoods.
This project will last for a year, it began in October 2018 and will finish in September 2019.
